Course Info: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers RENEWAL course covers core material such as adult, child and infant CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) and automated external defibrillation (AED). This course is for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and lifeguards who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a Healthcare Provider CPR course.

BLS Manual: No Book will be provided for the renewal course, However the BLS Provider eBook (electronic only, not a physical book) can be purchased for an additional $9 dollars. If you would like a physical book one can be shipped to your home before the class. (see cost below)

Written Exam: Written Exam is open book/open resource. There is a 25 question test at the end of the class.

(You MUST have a Previous AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Card which is current or recently expired (within 1 year). If you have the Red Cross Professional Rescuer or ASHI BLS certification you may take this course and transfer back to the AHA.

Course Length: Completed in under 3 hours

Certification: Two (2) Year American Heart Association (AHA) Certification - Same Day AHA Certification - eCards Issued at end of Course

Physicians: AMA Credit Designation Statement Certified for 1.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.

Physician Assistants (PA): AAPA Credit Acceptance Statement Certified for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM of 1.75 hours of Category I credit

Nurse Practitioners: AANP Credit Acceptance Statement American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM

Nurses: ANCC Credit Designation Statement, The maximum number of hours awarded for this CE activity is 1.75 contact hours

Pharmacists: ACPE Credit Designation Statement 1.75 Contact Hours. Universal Program Number: 0256-0000-16-830-L01-P

Paramedics/EMTs: EMS for 2.25 Basic CEHs (CAPCF), activity number 18-AMHA-F2-0001

All others are credited with 4 hours of Continuing Education Certification. x

Failure to attend your scheduled class as a “no show/no call” are non-refundable and are not able to be rescheduled. Refunds are granted as per policy. You also have the option of rescheduling your course to a new date/time. If your course is more than two (2) days from the start you can reschedule at no cost. However, if you are within two (2) days of your course, you will be assessed a rescheduling fee. All reschedules must be done via our Reschedule Course Page.
